Meeting Schedules

In general, the team meets every Tuesday and Friday, 6:30pm-8:00pm, throughout the year. Meetings are held at the NMU Jacobetti Complex (2296 Sugar Loaf Ave, Marquette, MI), room 207.

Fundraising Season (Sept. - Dec.)

Cold Logic Fundraising From the beginning of the school year to winter break, the team focuses their attention on fundraising. Students work on creating a business plan, contacting potential sponsors, writing grants, and participating in fundraising events.

September through December, the team will meet every
Tuesday and Friday, 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Kick-Off (1st Sat. in Jan.)

On the first Saturday in January, every FRC team will be given their robot building challenge. Teams are shown a video detailing the game, given their rule books and kit of basic parts, then begin designing.

For Cold Logic members, this event is considered Mandatory. Students must be signed up on the FIRST Website in order to participate.

Build Season (Jan. - Mar.)

Cold Logic Build Season From Kick-Off to our first competition, the team is focused on designing, building, wiring, programming, testing, and practicing with our robot.

January through March, the team will meet every
Tuesday and Friday, 6:30pm to 8:00pm and
Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Lunch is provided for weekend meetings.

Competition Season (Mar. - May.)

Cold Logic at Competition Between competition weekends, the team is given some time to make improvements and continue practicing with the robot. Effort is also put into creating team regalia and of course continuing fundraising. On weekends, when the team isn't competing, we are scouting matches.

March through April, the team will meet every
Tuesday and Friday, 6:30pm to 8:00pm and
Saturday, 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

Off-Season (May - Aug.)

Cold Logic Community Outreach After competition season has ended, the team shifts their attention to giving back to the community. During this time the team will focus on community outreach events; such as summer workshops, STEAM fairs, and Robots @ the Libraries.

Annual U.P. Robotics Conference

Every year, Team Cold Logic hosts the U.P. Robotics Conference. This event is a series of workshops and forums for and by robotics teams throughout the Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan.

All teams (students, parents, mentors, etc.) K-12 are welcome to join us for this event, as well as members of the community looking to learn more about FIRST robotics.

The 2019 UP Robotics Conference is planned to be held on Saturday, November 9th, from 9:00am to 5:00pm at Marquette Senior High School (1203 West Fair Avenue, Marquette MI).

Robots @ The Libraries

Robots At The Libraries Poster Robots At The Libraries Poster R@TL is an international outreach event started by FRC Team 3617 Cold Logic. This event is focused on encouraging robotics teams to work with their local libraries to inspire STEAM interest in the community.

Robots at the Libraries takes place shortly after the end of FIRST's competition season, over the course of one week. During this week, teams K-12 head to their local libraries to give robot demonstrations and help kick-off the summer reading program.

Summer Workshops

Summer Workshop Poster Every summer, Team Cold Logic hosts a series of hands-on, skill-building workshops open to the public. Topics for these workshops include everything from wiring to programming to public speaking to 3D Printing.

Workshops are held every Friday throughout the summer, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the NMU Jacobetti Complex (2296 Sugar Loaf Ave., Marquette MI) in room 207.

Cardboard Robot Chaos (Off-Season Competition)

Cold Logic Off-Season Competition Cold Logic is currently working on hosting the first ever FRC off-season competition in Marquette. The catch is that all robots will be constructed primarily of cardboard, duct tape, and rubber bands.
